The Blowing Rock Star program is integral in supporting the Village Foundation's mission to enhance economic development while reducing the burden on local government. We're currently working to bring plans for beautification and functional improvements to Annie Cannon Park before town council for review. Check out this video to see the vision!

Some of the highlights of the plan include:

Audubon Garden for birds and butterflies
Mayview Lake overlook with a trellis and pavilion
Improvements to Annie Cannon Gardens that will provide a greenspace for yoga, programs, events and games
Public restrooms
Trailhead entry and signage for the Glen Burney Trail to include historical information, maps, trail difficulty ratings, handicap accessibility and safety considerations.
New covered bridge crossing New Years Creek
Observation deck at the bottom of the falls

This is a multi-year project divided into three phases. For 2024-2025 we are focusing on Annie Cannon Gardens, the new trailhead and first 1,000 feed of the Glen Burney trail.
